Well, mayor matt mahan says the city has already reached a deal with several other bargaining groups. The results of that vote will be announced in San Jose City hall and 8. 30 this morning. Well, happening today, the man charged with attacking elderly woman in San Francisco will be in court for his preliminary hearing. 27 yearold James Lee Ramsey was a rain on elder abuse and Assault Charges for attacking an 88 yearold woman Near Union Square around july. 25th around 11, 15 in the morning or ramsey allegedly kicked the woman and spat on other victims. A witness nearby saw the incident and detain ramsey until police arrived. Prosecutors are now planning to request pretrial detention for him because they believe he poses a Public Safety risk. They have been negotiating with the city of san jose for quite some time. In fact, they have been working for more than a month now without a contract. What raise. They say theyre overworked and underpaid to the point where a lot of them are working overtime hours to fill in the gaps when they dont want to work overtime. And even when they are working, they say theyre being severely underpaid where they claim san jose despite being a beacon in the bay area, the heart of Silicon Valley that they can not of ford as far as the living wage is to do what they need to do for their families and that they claim that the workers come here to go to work and then get the experience and then take all of that experience to other cities where they are better paid. We got a chance to track down san joses mayor. Heres what he had to say about the difference and both sides. The current negotiations, theres a gap between 7 and 5 . Our estimate is that we are over 20 Million Dollars apart. And as i mentioned, thats a substantial amount of money for a city of santa event of our size.
