More people expressing concern tonight after a cancer causing chemical was found on the a climb as high school in west oakland. Thank you for joining us at 10, im pam moore and im ken wayne officials revealed yesterday they found trace amounts of the toxic chemical try coral ethylene and ground water under the high school campus. That chemical is commonly called tce the school was closed yesterday and again today. The concern is a chemical maybe vaporizing and coming up from the ground into the school building. District Officials Say theyll Start Testing the air tomorrow and continue those tests through next week Environmental Health officials will also test the soil around that school another concern is that the high school is in the area already known to have to see we showed you this map yesterday the school is less than half a mile away from the lane metal finisher site which is currently labeled as hazardous.
