Ryan Jastrzembski, an 11-year-old Mount Laurel boy, suffered severe burns after he caught fire in an incident involving a backyard bonfire on Monday evening. The boy poured gasoline on the bonfire, causing the gas can to explode as his body was covered in flames, police said. A GoFundMe campaign created to support Jastrzembski's recovery has received more than $125,000 in donations.
Mount Laurel Fire Department Deputy Chief Todd Evans credits the boy being told to stop, drop and roll by a teen for putting out the flames on his body.
