Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper and his organization, Tepper Sports & Entertainment, decided this spring to replace the natural surface with synthetic FieldTurf, which five other NFL stadiums use. The main reason: cost. Grass fields are far more difficult and expensive to maintain.
