Cazenovia’s Brae Loch Inn celebrates 75th anniversary with rare summer ‘Burns Night’ Syracuse.com 1 hr ago © Ellen M. Blalock Brae Loch Inn, 5 Albany Street, Cazenovia. Ellen M. Blalock | eblalock@syracuse.com
Burns Night in June is a bit like Christmas in July.
But when your Scottish-themed restaurant’s 75th anniversary coincides with the easing up of the Covid-19 pandemic, that’s what happens.
The Brae Loch Inn in Cazenovia is celebrating three-quarters of a century in business Friday and Saturday (June 11 and 12) with a celebration that typically happens each year in late January. The inn at 5 Albany St. (Route 20) in the village will host a Burns Night Supper on Saturday (which is already sold out), and an open Burns Night Party on Friday.
Contactless virtual plant sale at College of Lake County
Updated 4/22/2021 11:31 AM
The horticulture department at College of Lake County will hold its annual plant sale fundraiser virtually this year. Beginning Monday, April 19 through Monday, May 3, purchase plants online using credit card payment only. Proceeds help support CLC horticulture student scholarships, internships and program enhancements. Community members look forward to this sale every spring, said horticulture department chair Rory Klick. Gardeners are always excited to get started planting and we re very happy to offer the sale virtually this year. Our students in horticulture production and sustainable agriculture have helped grow a wide range of annuals, perennials, fruits, vegetables, herbs and houseplants as part of their hands-on coursework and gain real world experience as growers.
