This is another deeply disturbing and unacceptable “true story” that inevitably shows up on YouTube in the People Also Watched section.
Unfortunately, I became masterful in navigating through the internet’s People Also Watched section after George Floyd’s murder by (former police officer and recently convicted) Derek Chauvin. That infamous video woke me up to watch for inequities displayed towards countless other Blacks, people of colour, LGBTQ and others who consider themselves marginalized or not treated equally.

A group of Marlborough schoolboys, rowing in an eight together for the very first time, squeezed out older and more experienced competition to snatch a national title and gold medal in Twizel. Despite never having trained together the chemistry of the composite crew “just clicked” the triumphant Marlborough Boys College rowing team said about their gold medal win at the rowing nationals.

Police investigating historical sexual offending at Dilworth School have filed an additional 33 charges as part of Operation Beverly.
Today, Police have filed additional charges against five men aged between 68 and 78, all of whom are already before the Court as a result of this investigation.
The 33 new charges include:
• Indecency with boys under 16 years old
• Inducing a boy under 12 to do an indecent act
• Indecency with Boy Under 12
• Unlawful sexual connection with a male under 12
• Indecent Assault
Since Operation Beverly was announced in September, we have identified over 80 additional victims as part of our enquiries. All of these complaints are being investigated by members of the Operation Beverly Investigation Team.
