Dilworth School investigation: High Court trial date set

A High Court trial date has been set for four men after a police investigation into alleged historical sexual offending at Dilworth School.
Ross Douglas Browne, Rex Clarence McIntosh and two others with name suppression appeared for the first time in the High Court at Auckland today.
Not guilty pleas had already been entered to all charges while in the district court.
Browne denies 15 charges, most of which are allegations of indecent assault on a boy.

The 72-year-old was a chaplain at the private boarding school from roughly 1979 until 2006.

Police investigating historical sex offending at Auckland s Dilworth School have filed an additional 33 charges as part of Operation Beverly.
And 80 additional victims have now been identified, Detective Senior Sergeant Geoff Baber said.
Police today filed additional charges against five men aged between 68 and 78.
Baber said the new charges included allegations of indecency with boys under 16 years old, inducing a boy under 12 to do an indecent act, unlawful sexual connection, and indecent assault.

Police investigating historical sexual offending at Dilworth School have filed an additional 33 charges as part of Operation Beverly.
Today, Police have filed additional charges against five men aged between 68 and 78, all of whom are already before the Court as a result of this investigation.
The 33 new charges include:
• Indecency with boys under 16 years old
• Inducing a boy under 12 to do an indecent act
• Indecency with Boy Under 12
• Unlawful sexual connection with a male under 12
• Indecent Assault
Since Operation Beverly was announced in September, we have identified over 80 additional victims as part of our enquiries. All of these complaints are being investigated by members of the Operation Beverly Investigation Team.
