Item 3 the item on the agenda today went through with approval. I want to let you know regarding the gary project ive been involved with the gary project since january of 1986. I think the people that are involved in item 3 should take a look at the final report of gary Transit Task Force that i served on between 86 and 87 before putting prop b on the ballot in 89 that or i suggested you have those people look at the final report that was published in 1995. I know those are all documents but
Director ram, you assigned us tremendous staff people and nurtured this. [speaker not understood]. And i know bureaucracy tends to like doing things in formula ways, and you didnt do that. And i think the result is youre getting a very exciting document. Its our hope that this will help future communities plan. There are other communities. There is a Community Gathering a few weeks ago that was focused on sustaining our cultural communities in San Francisco and people were sharing this kind of planning and saying, this is where we need to go. Its not the traditional, heres how you build a big building in this part of town. Its really, how do we sustain the communities that make San Francisco diverse, unique, and wonderful . And we really feel that our document is one of the first. We have a lot to share with you. It has a tower for seniors and then town houses that surround that complex. So, ive been there a long time. When we first started to go to the meetings, my kids were in grammar school. Now theyre in college and my oldest daughter has graduated from college. So, it has been a long journey for all of us, but im glad that we are back here.
