There was a large truck fire on Interstate 24 in the Westbound lane on Thursday afternoon around 1:15 PM (06/16/22). The blaze was at mile marker 97, which is the Beechgrove exit. Emergency personnel from both Rutherford and Coffee County responded to the call. Authorities had to block both lanes of traffic to extinguish the fire, investigate the cause and clear the debris.

What appears to have been a quick-change scam ended with a Walmart customer allegedly stealing $1,000. The incident was reported at the Walmart on Old Fort Parkway late last month.
Now, MPD Detectives need assistance identifying a person of interest in the 'quick cash scam' fraud . Evidently, the customer was able to confuse the Walmart clerk during the cash transaction which allowed her to walk away with the $1,000

Murfreesboro Police are investigating the death of a man after his body was located in the Walmart parking lot on Joe B Jackson Parkway at the intersection of Highway 231 South. The man was found inside his SUV shortly after 2:00 on Tuesday afternoon (06/14/22).

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee State University’s Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted to keep tuition and program services fees flat for the coming academic year this fall.
The board unanimously approved the administration’s recommendation for a 0% increase in undergraduate tuition and program services fees, as well as a 0% increase in graduate and out-of-state tuition.
