Were right in front of the safeway, and officers are trying to determine what happened to their fellow officers tonight. Around 8 30, someone from the Safeway Store off lieu welling boulevard summoned patrol officers in the parking lot about a shoplifting suspect. He was apparently carrying bottles. A female officer tried to contact him in the parking lot, and thats when he got into his car. The subject was able to start his vehicle, put it in gear, and drive away with the officer still in the doorway of the vehicle. Both officers sustained injuries from the vehicle running them over.
