On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, she told the story of her grandfather, Lotan Harold DeWolf, and how he was a mentor and close personal friend with the Civil Rights activist. As a longtime friend of the Lancaster native, this writer had no idea just how close, until some research revealed some fascinating information. My grandfather was a soft spoken man, quiet but wasn t afraid to stand up for what he believed in, said Whiting.
