The fire department is looking for some self-starters.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. Houston County swimmers may soon have a brand new place to practice their backstroke.
Members of Warner Robins City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to sign a deal with Houston County and the Houston County Board of Education to build an indoor swimming center across from Freedom Field.
Back in 2018, when the county approved their latest SPLOST plan, they set aside $7 million for an indoor swimming facility.
Now, that plan is moving forward. I feel like this community could do so much with an big pool complex. It would be life-changing for me and I know there s a lot of us out there, says Mandy Grignon.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. The COVID-19 pandemic forced many businesses across the country to close up shop, but Houston County saw a fresh batch of new businesses open their doors from restaurants to entertainment spots.
“There was a small inkling of, Should we open? Is this going to have a long-term effect, ” said Ashley James.
She opened Mini Dixie Donuts on Watson Boulevard in April. At the time, she had big hopes for her mini donut business.
