El Dorado resident John Ralston, center, commends a group of El Dorado Water Utilities employees for their responsiveness to a recent call about a sinkhole on Ralston s property. An investigation led to the discovery of a damaged wastewater line. Ralston said he was so impressed with the team s assiduousness that he bought them lunch as they worked to repair the wastewater line a job that included a bore into the street and a part of Ralston s driveway. He and El Dorado City Council Member David Hurst recognized the EWU workers during an El Dorado Water and Public Works Board meeting on March 15. One impact of the pandemic is that community college enrollment fell 14%, mostly among Black and Latino students. Once school is fully “normal” again, enrollment will increase.
