Homes and businesses near the Russian River banks were once again flooded and as soon as the waters receded here we are again. People who live around here though are taking it all in stride. Everybody is doing well in the neighborhood. This is pretty normal. But the storm we had a couple of weeks ago was by far worse. Theres no water in our well, theres a little bit of water in our basement but nothing like a few weeks ago. The panel of three judges on the 9th Circuit Court of appeals came to a unanimous conclusion. In their ruling they rejected the administrations claim that President Trump has authority to act on National Security matters without review by judges. The judges said neither the Supreme Court nor our court has ever held that the courts cannot use executive orders in order to uphold the constitution. Learned the state gave workers the green light to clean the mudslides on highway 17 after a worker died up there but as you mentioned that slide is now on the move again so they have shut down highway 17 and it has caused quite a head ache here. It began just before 10 this morning. Highway 17 shut down at summit road southbound and Granite Creek road northbound. Traffic once again backed up on the major route between san jose and santa cruz. Its inconvenient. Since tuesday the mudslides caused a mess in the area. Northbound line remains closed. Tragedy struck. Yesterday a contractor ran over two others killing bobby gill and wounding steven whitmire. The state suspended the clean up to investigate what went wrong.
