Schools where students will appear in the ICSE and ISC exams will have an additional round of inspection, during which officials will check seating arrangements, sanitisation system and other Covid-19 protocols, said conveners.
Usually, conveners visit the schools in their respective zones during the exams. This time, there will be a visit before the start of the exams as well, following an instruction from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, which conducts the ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) exams.
“The conveners have been asked to do one inspection before the board exams. We will see whether the Covid protocols are being followed. The conveners will inspect the seating arrangements, sanitisation system, availability of sanitisers and other things. The inspection will be done after the schools are ready with the arrangements and before the exams,” said Sanchita Biswas, the principal of St Paul’s Mission School and an ISC convener.
Faced with resistance from parents, schools offer online exams The state govt has allowed schools to reopen for in-person instruction for students of Classes IX to XII from February 12
The parents of many students of Classes IX and XI at Delhi Public School Ruby Park have objected to the authorities’ decision that the children would write their exams on the campus.
About 600 parents have handed over a petition to the school authorities pleading that the option of online exams be kept open.
Faced with resistance from parents, some schools have called off the decision to conduct on-campus exams and some are offering students the option of writing the test online.

Mr Baxter erroneously states as fact that I and a number of business leaders were obsessed with the land border, claiming “All they talked about was we need to keep the Irish border open, otherwise the Good Friday Agreement (GFA) will be broken and it could lead to trouble, if we were to have customs posts set up between Northern Ireland and the Republic.”
It is a matter of record that I warned of the potential for a border in the Irish Sea, with a return to the bad old days of suspicion over the movement of goods and people from Britain’s ports and airports into Northern Ireland.

‘Panic calls’ from students amid uncertainty over boards When and how the exams will be held and whether they will be able to attend practical classes before the boards are some of the queries
Uncertainty regarding board exams and the manner in which they will be conducted have become a cause for concern, especially for Class XII students, several heads of schools said.
In at least two institutions, counsellors and teachers have received “panic calls” from students.
When and how the exams will be held and whether they will be able to attend practical classes before the boards are some of the queries students are asking their teachers.
