New Farmington Public Schools’ superintendent discusses plans for first year Delgado Advertisement FARMINGTON On May 13, the Farmington Public Schools’ Board of Education, in a 7-0 vote, offered Chris Delgado a contract to serve as the district’s next superintendent. The decision came after an extensive interview process that saw two rounds of public interviews, where candidates took questions and discussed plans for the district. Bobbie Goodrum, the assistant superintendent for diversity, equity and inclusion, served as the interim superintendent during the search. “We are all so excited to welcome him to our already incredible team,” Board of Education President Terri Weems said in a press release. “We are confident he will leverage the talent in our district to produce the best outcomes for our students. We all really look forward to working with him.”

Farmington school board narrows superintendent search to five

Farmington Public Schools narrowed its superintendent search to five. The district s board of education will interview the five finalists Wednesday and Thursday. The board will narrow the group from five after Thursday s interviews and conduct a second round of interviews May 11-13.  The school board has previously indicated it would like to install a new superintendent by summer.  Four of the finalists are outsiders to the district, and one is an internal candidate. Two are already working as superintendents, while the others all serve in assistant or deputy roles. Community members are welcome to attend each interview virtually. Farmington Public Schools board approves increasing in-person learning District will continue mask wearing, hand washing and student partitions Updated:  Tags:  FARMINGTON, Mich. – The Farmington Public Schools Board of Education unanimously voted 6-0 on Tuesday to increase in-person learning and relax the 6-foot social distancing measure in order to increase in-person learning for students. The district will continue other mitigation practices such as mask wearing, hand washing, cleaning and sanitizing, air filtration and student partitions. The board also granted interim Superintendent Bobbie Goodrum to make decisions for the district on how to move forward. READ: According to a press release, “In order to meet legislative requirements of House Bill 4048, the district is expected to have these changes in place by March 22. If the March 22 date is changed in the legislation, this date may be extended until April 12, 2021; a week after the district’s spring break.
