it sounds like a decent pay outright. except for guess what you can sell the average hectare of poppy for? $3600. if you were an afghan farmer, what would you do, bob? well if i were an afghan farmer, i d be scared to death of those marines. i think that s what i d say. i don t know that this buying off producers of poppies and things like that works. the only place i know that it seems to have worked was in colombia. but in afghanistan, it doesn t seem to work. i don t think it s a particularly good idea. maybe it s just the wrong price, if it worked in colombia, maybe they just found a better price, arianna? well maybe this is the time for bob to join george will, the cato institutes and many other conservatives and call for america to leave afghanistan. it s a war of choice, not a war of necessity. every day that we re there, we are losing more hearts and minds. we re killing civilians. we are undermining ultimately our own national security.
