This morning, crews are searching for three missing hikers in a park and the bodies of four other hikers have been recovered. They couldnt escape the fast moving floodwaters. When the group picked up their permits, they were warned that flooding was likely. Just to the south, the same flash floods killed at least 12 people, when a wall of water swept away two vehicles near the utah arizona border. Residents say its the worst flood in memory. Saturday afternoon. The second victim was discovered yesterday near ford road in the community of anderson springs. Authorities have not identified that body, but it was found near the home of 69yearold leonard neft. Hes the retired newspaper reporter who was last heard from on as saturday as saturday as the fast moving fire raced toward his home. His burned out car was found not far from where he lived. For his neighbors, his an extremely difficult time. Both the houses that we had there are gone. Everywhere you look there is devastation. If its not you, its your neighbor. Were all affected. Reporter the other big concern for evacuees is the threat of looting. Just yesterday sheriffs deputies arrest this man. They say he was trying to break into empty homes in the Cobb Mountain area. And Authorities Say that this accused looter was wearing a baseball cap that says chp on it, trying to blend it as a member of law enforcement.
