POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ – After an at-times contentious discussion that included insults and accusations of politicking on the dais, there was still no decision regarding the permit application by the Point Pleasant Elks to hold their annual Elksfest on the same day as the borough s seafood festival.
Instead, the decision was made to hold a meeting between the chief of police, the council s police and emergency management committee, the chamber of commerce, and the Elks after a motion made by councilman Bob Santanello.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ – The Point Pleasant council election is set while there are still some questions about who will be running for the two seats up for election on the Point Pleasant Beach borough council.
There were no candidates for the Democratic primary for the Point Beach council; however, there were 20 write-in votes, and on the Republican side, the only two candidates that ran were Michael Ramos and Rosa Crowley and not the two councilmen whose positions are being contested, Andy Cortes and Bob Santanello.
Santanello switched his affiliation from the Republican Party to the Libertarian Party, while Cortes said he was unsure about running back in March.

Not for John Fernicola.
Fernicola is the motel owner from Point Pleasant Beach who’s been in the news lately because the borough wants to take his property through eminent domain and turn the site into a parking lot.
The motel has sparked numerous calls to the police. Members of the Borough Council are arguing that acquiring the site through eminent domain would rid the town of a perennial trouble spot.
