Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah picked in second round
DYLAN SINN | The Journal Gazette
The 2020 Butkus Award winner as the best linebacker in the country is the third Notre Dame player off the board in the 2021 NFL Draft. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah went to the Cleveland Browns in the second round with the 52nd overall pick.
Owusu-Koramoah is maybe the most decorated player to come out of Notre Dame since fellow Butkus Award-winner Jaylon Smith, a Bishop Luers graduate. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Owusu-Koramoah was a unanimous First-Team All-American and was the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, as well as a finalist for the Nagurski and Bednarik Awards, given to the best defensive player in the country, both of which went to Tulsa s Zaven Collins.

Good morning, Gang Green Nation! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. The New York Jets are one of only a handful of teams without workout bonuses in their contract, as well as being one of a few teams without voidable years in their contracts. Not having any voidable years on a contract essentially means a team is stuck with some type of cap hit on a player if they’re cut early regardless, but given how frugal Douglas has been with contracts; he’s left plenty of room for error. The Jets aren’t strapped on cash or need to manipulate the cap so there’s really not much of a point to include voidable years into the contracts of t
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. A look at what s happening around the New York Jets:
1. Bright lights, big city: It s a long way from Big Man on Campus to biggest market in the country, which is why it can be overwhelming to play quarterback in New York. The 24/7 scrutiny can get into a player s head (see: Geno Smith), the paparazzi can find you at all times (Mark Sanchez) and the media attention can even cause a pro s pro (Chad Pennington) to have a couple of bad moments in front of the cameras.
In 11 days, the Jets are expected to draft BYU s Zach Wilson, who was born, raised and schooled in Utah. Is he ready for Gotham? Can he lead a perennial loser out of the abyss?
