PROVIDENCE  President Biden s deliberate use of a single word on Saturday, April 24, Armenian Remembrance Day, gave Armenians around the world something they have dearly wanted for a century. By using the word, genocide which Turkey has demanded its allies never utter in connection with 1 million to 1.5 million Armenians killed from 1915 to 1923    Biden stepped across a line in the sand. No U.S. president except Ronald Reagan has taken that step.

NEW YORK  The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention eased its guidelines Tuesday on the wearing of masks outdoors, saying fully vaccinated Americans don t need to cover their faces anymore unless they are in a big crowd of strangers. And those who are unvaccinated can go outside without masks in some situations, too. The new guidance represents another carefully calibrated step on the road back to normal life from the coronavirus outbreak that has killed over 570,000 people in U.S.
