welcome to city hall. thank you for joining us. thank you for coming out. i want to thank members of the board of supervisors. i want to thank them for being here in this joint recognition of our commissioners and members of 14 different bodies that will be appointed today to committees and commissions. i want to thank all the friends and family for joining us. let me say how excited i am this past week, i have been watching a certain convention. next week, we will have an even more exciting convention to watch. it is of course, in the spirit of the expected national, regional, and state elections we are preparing for. it is also a reminder of the importance of our civic duty and all the different departments we have created. public engagement is extremely important to the way we run government in san francisco. it has always been about public engagement. we need the last bodies come a different viewpoints, different economic classics classes, ethnicities, and r
a certain level of anger and frustration from me when i come before you. because i watch your meetings on sfgtv if i am not here, and it isn t just the fact that you seem to disregard the rights of the citizens under the sunshine ordinance and the brown act. but you seem to be flagrant about making promises and commitments you don t keep. last week there were documents that were shown on the overhead which were not leg able for the members of the public. documents which under the law should have been made available in the information packet which was sent out. and then they should have been available to the public so they could be participating in this. and it gives the lie to the idea that you want the public participation and then you deny the documents and the information that people need to actually make meaningful public comment. and then, you make a commitment to putting these documents later up on to the police department website, and low and behold you go to the websi
based on an early assessment from the consulting, there s only one line that has population implications of 64 people, so certainly, we can start with that. that is fine. the short list that i have and again, i will invite others to add, erring on the side of new, with the bristol hotel, the central business district, the mason street, the question of showplace square. precinct 39. the question of that bloc in sunnyside that was highlighted at the overlap of sunnyside and glen park. and then, finally, the northern border of d-6, the question of do you go to 14th or 15th street. knowing the intricacies of science ever growing and becoming more complicated. it s pretty clear that we must reach out and compliment our internal research strengths with partners, partners from academia and tech and collaborations with academia part of our research. it s not just an incubator model, but collaboration with mutual fit of interests. we help each other really for the benefit of the patients, which is really our ultimate goal to bring treatment to the impairments. the collaborator is one of the newest models that we pursue. it s an addition to our partnering models which cover actually pretty wide spans. another example i want to give you is our grants for targets initiative, where we use the internet, really to reach out into the whole crowd of scientists, worldwide, and the collaborator is our newest addition. we do have other forms of collaboration beyond of course the collaborator and the grants for targets initiative. for example, the imi initiative in euro

[roll call vote] good luck. are you crying, really? item seven. this has been a tearful meeting. tears of joy. item 7, commissioner comments and questions. are there any? i would like to comment, a quick update about a sub committee for the task force we had pulled together in february and march. we did hold two meetings, we intended on holding three. for anyone that is paying attention to planning is, the western soma plan released its er and comments were due yesterday. we were trying to pull together the group began to see if we can formally comment as a subcommittee or even pass that along to the full commission. the meetings, we had could turn out the first meeting. we talked about housing, entertainment, the buffer zones that around or around the housing and we talked about transportation and the need for entertainment along routes of public transit. unfortunately, we could not formalize any recomm
