About an hour and a half after the fire broke out near highway 140 in Yosemite National park. Reporter people here in el portal watched in horror as the plane crashed. We learned that emergency crews finally reached that plane at the top of the ridge at the crash site and confirmed the pilot the only person on the plane is dead. Here is a still image of the flaming wreckage just after the impact. The crash site is near the top of the 2500foot cliff. The plane was being used to fight the dog rock fire just inside the western side of Yosemite National park. Witnesses said the plane looked like it went out of control and came straight down.
