Chef Murray Zehr, the owner and executive chef of 1909 Culinary Academy in Blandford-Blenheim Township, has released a book to help with pandemic cooking at home.

The book, What Else Can I Do With Preserves?, was released Sunday and aims to help all levels of cooks use preserves in the pantry for at-home cooking.
“It is exciting to know more people are jarring, canning, and wanting to experiment with a wider variety of food items, including preserves,” Zehr said in a Tourism Oxford release. “I am proud to take the traditional methods of yesteryear and turn them into innovative recipes for this book.”

A man looking for his stolen smartphone is now facing serious charges after a pedestrian in Woodstock was struck and rushed to a London hospital with serious injuries.
Woodstock police said a male driver was using a mobile app Wednesday night to track his stolen smartphone. When he arrived in the Henry Street area – the location pinpointed by his tracker app – the driver then deliberately hit a male pedestrian with his vehicle, police alleged.

The driver then assaulted that pedestrian, police reported.
