Communities of tiny homes around Greenville soon could have new rules

Tiny homes began appearing in Greenville County about four years ago. The county s proposed rules would exclude recreational vehicles, campers and other structures not meant to serve as permanent dwellings from tiny-home communities. That s really important because a lot of the proposals that we ve been receiving are basically RV parks but they re marketed as tiny homes,  Jeffers-Campbell said. Another important change, she said, is that the county Planning Commission would be required to give final approval to tiny-home communities. Residents would have a chance to give their views to the commission before the projects can proceed. A lot of residents and citizens had a lot of anxiety about these types of developments,  Jeffers-Campbell said.
