After calling an emergency meeting to fill the excessive number of vacant Senate seats, 60 Senators met Tuesday in person in the Reitz Union Grand Ballroom completing not only Senate’s first meeting of the semester, but also its first successful in-person meeting since the COVID-19 outbreak.

Student Government held virtual meetings for the Budget and Appropriations Committee, Replacement and Agenda Committee and Judiciary Committee on Monday all of which broke SG’s codes by being conducted remotely.
The codes specify all SG meetings must be held in person except in the event of a local or federal state of emergency.

Tiny homes began appearing in Greenville County about four years ago.
The county s proposed rules would exclude recreational vehicles, campers and other structures not meant to serve as permanent dwellings from tiny-home communities. That s really important because a lot of the proposals that we ve been receiving are basically RV parks but they re marketed as tiny homes, Jeffers-Campbell said.
Another important change, she said, is that the county Planning Commission would be required to give final approval to tiny-home communities. Residents would have a chance to give their views to the commission before the projects can proceed. A lot of residents and citizens had a lot of anxiety about these types of developments, Jeffers-Campbell said.
