Blair Oaks to play at Fulton in Class 3 volleyball sectional

For the first time in five years, the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons and the Fulton Lady Hornets will meet on the volleyball court. And the stakes couldn’t be any higher. Blair Oaks will continue its push for a third consecutive state championship tonight in a Class 3 state sectional matchup at Fulton. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Robertson s homer lifts Fatima past Blair Oaks for district title

If the Fatima Lady Comets have shown anything this season, it’s they are capable of finding power hitting anywhere in their lineup, Nos. 1-9. It was Kristen Robertson’s time to shine Tuesday night. The junior third baseman drove the first pitch she saw in the bottom of the fourth inning over the left-field fence for a three-run home run. That blast was the difference in a 4-1 victory against the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons in the Class 3 District 5 Tournament championship game at Southern Boone High School.

It wouldn’t be a softball postseason without the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons and the Fatima Lady Comets facing each other. But first, Blair Oaks had to get past the Southern Boone Lady Eagles, a team that knocked them off in the final week of the regular season. The Lady Falcons got their revenge. Blair Oaks scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning Monday night, holding off Southern Boone for a 6-4 victory in a state-ranked matchup in the Class 3 District 5 Tournament semifinals at Southern Boone High School.

Blair Oaks downs Helias in four sets

With the calendar turning the page to the month of October, it very much felt like postseason volleyball Tuesday night at Blair Oaks High School. In a match that was a constant back-and-forth battle, the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons had the final run that secured a 25-19, 24-26, 25-21, 29-27 victory against the Helias Lady Crusaders.

Fatima, St Elizabeth remain atop state softball rankings

Two area high school softball teams remained the top-ranked team of their respective classes, two more teams moved into the top three and three teams moved into this week’s Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association rankings, which were released Wednesday.
