Police in Waverly are investigating a non-fatal shooting that took place over the weekend.
In a release on Monday, Interim Waverly Police Chief John Winfield said officers were called to the area of 238 Saint Mary’s Lane on Sunday to find the victim, Blaine Hubbard III with a gunshot wound to the neck area. He was flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for treatment.
The suspect was identified as Deric Lansing. He was quickly located and taken into custody without incident and has been charged with felonious assault.
The case will be forwarded to the Pike County Prosecutor’s Office once the investigation is complete.

WAVERLY - A man was shot Sunday after an altercation on Saint Mary s Lane, Waverly, according to Waverly Police.
The Waverly Police Department was dispatched to the area of 238 Saint Mary s Lane regarding a possible shooting.
Witnesses stated two male subjects were involved in an altercation in the roadway, which led to one of the individuals being shot. When officers arrived in the area, contact was made with the victim, who was identified as Blaine Hubbard III.
Hubbard sustained a gunshot wound in the neck area.
He was transported to Adena Pike ER by Medicare EMS and was later flown to Grant Medical Center Hospital.
