The greater Erie region has consistently added breweries since Erie Brewing Co. opened in 1994. Our latest addition, Twisted Elk Brewery, is located in beautiful Lake City. Owned and operated by Brad and Michelle Nuce, Twisted Elk began as a homebrew dream 10 years ago. Brad Nuce, a West Virginia native, was stationed in the Erie area with the U.S. Marine Corps and moved to the region in 2010. It was around that same time that he began homebrewing and, like most of us, fell in love with the hobby. The planning for Twisted Elk began two years ago after Brad Nuce volunteered with Tom Morris at Black Monk Brewing. Brad and Michelle Nuce found a great building at a main intersection of Lake City at Routes 5 and 18, and then they acquired their business loans in fall 2019.
