With the ongoing battle of the second wave of the pandemic, black fungus cases have increased across various states in the country. The black fungus infection and death tolls are reported to be maximum in Uttar Pradesh. The continuous rise in infection has made ten states declare it an epidemic. The Centre, on the other hand, has issued guidelines to the states to contain its spread.
States have now established an infection control committee headed by a nodal officer to look after the treatment and the spread of Mucormycosis.
