NASA Wallops Island Rocket Launch Scheduled for Tonight After It Was Postponed Again

NASA has once again postponed a rocket launch from its Wallops facility in Virginia due to weather conditions.
NASA s Wallops Flight Facility tweeted on Wednesday that the launch of its Black Brant XII sounding rocket, due to take place on Tuesday had been scrubbed because of cloudy skies in Bermuda and Wallops.
The next opportunity to attempt a launch would be no earlier than 8:06 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, with backup windows running through May 16.

Black Brant XII, carrying the KiNET-X payload, is a four-stage sounding rocket that can reach altitudes over 200 miles above Earth s surface, according to NASA Wallops Flight Facility.
NASA Wallops Visitor Center will not be open for viewing, but you can watch the launch live, with coverage starting at about 7:40 p.m.

A rocket launch from Wallops Island, Va., on Wednesday night could be noticable in Pennsylvania, if the weather cooperates.
The launch has been scrubbed four times before. NASA will try again, no earlier than 8:05 p.m. May 12, to launch the Black Brant XII sounding rocket from the Wallops Flight Facility. If that doesn’t work, NASA plans to try again through May 16.

PADRES DEPLETED
San Diego shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. and outfielder Wil Myers tested positive for COVID-19, and the Padres are shorthanded heading into a doubleheader against Colorado at Coors Field.
First baseman Eric Hosmer is out for contact tracing, along with utility players Jurickson Profar and Jorge Mateo. Padres manager Jayce Tingler said Tuesday night he hoped the fallout from the virus would stop and anticipated his team could play the single-admission twinbill as scheduled to make up Monday night’s postponement. Both games are scheduled for seven innings.
