Looking out across the American landscape in 2023, you cannot help but appreciate that it’s getting to be nuttier than a fruitcake party. You’ve got men pretending to be women. Drag queens! You’ve got women trying to grow a beard.
Music, dancing, lantern-making and student connection took center stage during the 2022-2023 academic year. While annual events continued to grow, new traditions blazed a path for future students. Check out some of the biggest events from this school year:
While Shakoor’s main gig is leading the Black Creatives Collective (BCC) as president, he’s also been the Creative and Art Director for Gravity Magazine and an editor and co-producer for UMTV. Add his status as a Hammond scholar, a semester abroad in Brazil and internships with NBCUniversal, NASDAQ and Paramount Pictures. It must be difficult fitting these experiences on a one-page resume.
