ANN ARBOR, MI The Ann Arbor City Council has approved $120,000 from the street, bridge and sidewalk millage to fund filling of sidewalk gaps on Newport and Sunset roads.
The Newport/Sunset sidewalk gap project is part of the city’s 2022-27 capital improvements plan. The project includes construction of sidewalk on the west side of Newport Road from Downup Circle to Sunset Road, and on the north side of Sunset Road to Brooks Street.
Once finished, the new sidewalks will make it easier for pedestrians to get to the Newport Road access point for Bird Hills Nature Area.
