People who fly drones will be required to take Safety Awareness tests as part of a government clampdown on rogue operators. Owners will be banned from flying them near airports, while the police will be given new powers to seize the machines. They are part of plans to crack down on criminal and unsafe use of drones, which have been used for smuggling, and have been involved in near misses with aeroplanes. The proposed drone bill could mean that owners of drones weighing more than 250 grams will need to register and do a test. Theyll be banned from flying near airports or higher than 120 metres. Police will get new powers to seize unmanned aerial vehicles. And the new aviation minister also wants britain to tap into the wider benefits of drones. Weve looked at the drones today which can help in the construction industry, in the mining industry, on offshore oil rigs. And whats really exciting is that they can do jobs which actually put people at risk, and so hopefully it will help with safety as well. And the safety concerns were highlighted in july when Gatwick Airport had to close when a drone was flown under a plane about to land. Five people, including three children, have been killed after a stolen car crashed into a tree in leeds. Officers were called to the meanwood area of the city last night, to stonegate road just before 10pm. Two boys aged 15 are in custody. Our correspondent Alison Freeman has more. Officers said they were faced with a scene of complete carnage when they arrived here last night. The West Yorkshire force said a stolen renault clio had crashed into this tree just before ten oclock. Five people lost their lives. The youngest of those who died was a 12 year old boy. Two other boys aged 15, and two men aged 2a and 28 were also killed. Its not yet known if all of those who died had been travelling in the car when it crashed or if some had been walking along the road at the time. Two other 15 year old boys have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The Major Collision Inquiry Team is at the scene, trying to work out exactly what happened here last night. Police are

After authorities there raised the threat of a volcanic eruption to the highest level, that means it could happen in the next 2a hours. The volcano in question is mount agung. Thousands of people have been evacuated from the exclusion zone. There are fears of a full scale eruption for the First Time Since 1963 when about 1,600 people were killed. Tiffany wertheimer has the latest. Indonesians are used to sights like these, mount agung has rumbled back to life. Once again spewing black ash high into the sky. Right now vulcanologists have detected molten rock close to the volcanos surface, which means a powerful eruption could be imminent. Mount agung has been declared a danger zone and everyone within the seven and a half kilometre radius has been evacuated. The activity has entered the eruption phase, although it is still spearing ash at the moment, we need to monitor it and exercise caution for the possibility of a strong explosive eruption.
