Bayer Hawaii has donated $50,000 for wildfire disaster recovery to three Maui nonprofits $20,000 for the Lahaina Restoration Foundation and $15,000 each for Maui Economic Opportunity and Binhi At Ani.
The Filipino Community Center, in partnership with Filipino organizations on Oʻahu, is coordinating a benefit concert with all the proceeds going to Binhi at Ani Foundation-Tulong for Lahaina Fund.
“Tulong means help in the Tagalog and Ilokano languages,” said organization President Melen Agcolicol, who will lead the coordination. “And Binhi at Ani wanted to create a fund to help our kababayans, our fellow Filipinos, which comprise at least 40% of Lahaina town.”
The 54th Annual Barrio Fiesta will be held at Binhi at Ani Filipino Community Center in Kahului on Friday, May 26 (5 p.m. to 10 p.m.) and Saturday, May 27 (10 a.m. to 10 p.m.).
