However, the increased demand for chicken wings over the past 14 months has led to a nationwide shortage of the small but versatile pieces of poultry, which, when seasoned with hot sauce, teriyaki sauce, lemon pepper or a variety of dry rubs, are often the perfect companion to a night out or a sporting event. Restaurant owners in Delaware â such as Tom Armstrong, who owns Tomâs Bullpen in Doverâs The Shoppes at Hamlet â are feeling the pinch.

Navarre artist Billy Jacobs remembered for his idyllic art

NAVARRE – Claudia Anderson chuckled as she recalled her good friend Billy Jacobs, a local artist. A karaoke fan, Jacobs often hosted singing nights at her village business. He also brought his karaoke system to Anderson s family Christmas gatherings. Billy was always willing to help if he could, she said. Those were the funniest parties we ever had because he was willing to be a good friend. Jacobs, whose artwork depicted a simpler time, died May 3 after a more than two-week battle with COVID-19. The 63-year-old tested positive for coronavirus on April 16, his sister, Shirley Trusky, said. For the past two weeks, he was in the intensive care unit being treated for the virus.
