NAVARRE – Claudia Anderson chuckled as she recalled her good friend Billy Jacobs, a local artist.
A karaoke fan, Jacobs often hosted singing nights at her village business. He also brought his karaoke system to Anderson s family Christmas gatherings. Billy was always willing to help if he could, she said. Those were the funniest parties we ever had because he was willing to be a good friend.
Jacobs, whose artwork depicted a simpler time, died May 3 after a more than two-week battle with COVID-19.
The 63-year-old tested positive for coronavirus on April 16, his sister, Shirley Trusky, said.
For the past two weeks, he was in the intensive care unit being treated for the virus.
