Our Correspondent Diphu, July 4 (EMN): All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC) on Monday organised a Sixth Schedule awareness rally in Diphu town demanding a re-election of KAAC ‘as the election conducted in June was not as per the Sixth Schedule provision, but was conducted according to Panchayat laws, which is illegal’. APHLC is the main opposition party of the BJP ruled Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) in the hill districts of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong. Our Correspondent Diphu, June 8 (EMN): Voting for the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), one of the 6th Scheduled Autonomous Council in Assam was held on Wednesday as 7,03,298 voters of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong exercised their franchise to elect their new Member of Autonomous Council (MAC). The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang, after casting his vote said that out of 26 seats, BJP will win 24, while two seats will be won by independent candidates. On the other hand, All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC) candidate Bikrom Hanse, the rival candidate of CEM, informed of poll ragging in Bithung Rengthama.
