A Global Survey out today suggests young people view Climate Change as one of the Biggest Challenges facing the world. It comes as the environmental activist, greta thunberg, is set to address government ministers meeting in madrid. The survey by Amnesty International covered 10,000 young people and Climate Change came top of the list of challenges facing the world. The impact of this rising concern is predicted to have a dramatic impact on polluting industries. Its estimated the worlds 10 biggest oil and gas firms could lose 31 of their current value. Meanwhile, other sectors could gain. The same analysis suggests car makers, which move swiftly to electric vehicles, could more than double in value. A few days ago, the young environmental activist, greta thunberg, urged World Leaders to take more action. What i want to come out from this is as for every other such meeting, that World Leaders finally understand the urgency and that they listen to the science and act on the science, that
Have had very long careers in Public Service. I know you were in the house in 1994 and senator warner 1989 worked with doug wilder and before becoming governor in yourself virginia so what inspired your career in Public Service . What would you say to young people today who like to pursue a career in Public Service . I like to think i was or icactually am older than richard but i never acknowledge that. He dies his hair. [laughter] at least i got hair. [laughter] i would like to think i was old enough to touch by the idealism of the 60s but not old enough to be jaded. I had grown up in the midwest, indiana and illinois, connecticut and bent at thean se company for 35 years and first in my family to graduate from college. Somehow my parents were political, involved in pta, boy scouts but i always had the bug. Took some time or when offhanded business came back to politics because i did politics during college and law school but one of the things is all the frustrations and politics when
