The white house today announced a surge of spending to deal with the surge of illegal immigration. Just since october, the u. S. Has picked up 52,000 unaccompanied children crossing into the United States from mexico. Most are from central america. The u. S. Will spend 93 million to, among other things, repatriate them and help Central American countries fight the violence that is driving young people here. Anna werner begins our coverage. Reporter Border Patrol officials in texas Rio Grande Valley catch as many as 1,400 Illegal Immigrants crossing every day. The white house now plans to speed up processing by bringing in more immigration judges, moving more quickly to deport those not eligible for asylum, and expanding detention space.
