The librarys sarah duke talked to us about his influence and legacy and showed us many of his exhibits in the herblock gallery. Herb block was a midwestern born cartoonist. He began his career in 1929, six months before the Great Depression. He was a moderate conservative in his start. And he was radicalized, not leftleft, put pushed him further towards the center but a Great Depression and then the injustice of world war ii. In 1933, he joined the Scripps Howard company, the Newspaper Enterprise Association which was situated in cleveland, ohio. And then 1946, right after the second world war, he joining the Washington Post where he spent the rest of his career, and he died about six weeks afte

In addition to numerous articles and essays, he is the coeditor of 18 books, including Champion Hill, decisive battle of vicksburg, which won the Nonfiction Book award from the mississippi arts and letters.
