When road conditions take hazardous turn

The stretch between Memorial Drive and Camp Road was dug up by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) Major Pipelines Division for replacing underground drainage pipes. Though the replacement of UGD pipes is complete, the road is yet to be restored by the BWSSB authorities.

Residents do puja on Charles Campbell Road potholes

Residents of Bharathinagar, near Cox Town in central Bengaluru, staged a unique protest on Tuesday morning to highlight the poor condition of roads in their locality.  They got two priests to perform puja to potholes, hoping to shame the civic body into asphalting the roads that have been endangering vehicle users.

Ragini came all the way from Judicial Layout near Yelahanka in north Bengaluru to Kalpalli Burial Ground on Wednesday morning to distribute groceries to the grave diggers and those working at the electric crematoria. “It gives me immense pleasure to help the grave diggers who are doing a commendable work during this crisis. I am equally saddened to see pain and anguish among the people wherever I visit these days,” said Ragini.
