Bangalore Mirror had published a story – The lake minded – on January 13, 2024, narrating how the open entrance of Halasuru Lake has become a place for dumping garbage, construction and demolition debris.
The stretch between Memorial Drive and Camp Road was dug up by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) Major Pipelines Division for replacing underground drainage pipes. Though the replacement of UGD pipes is complete, the road is yet to be restored by the BWSSB authorities.

Yelahanka in north Bengaluru to Kalpalli Burial Ground on Wednesday morning to distribute groceries to the grave diggers and those working at the electric crematoria. “It gives me immense pleasure to help the grave diggers who are doing a commendable work during this crisis. I am equally saddened to see pain and anguish among the people wherever I visit these days,” said Ragini.
