Automakers in India believe that Bharat NCAP will elevate the standard of safety of vehicles in India while also motivating brands to use better technology.
India is set to get its own crash safety assessment system with the launch of Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has launched Indias first and only crash test programme named Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP) to test the road safety worthiness of cars.
Under this programme, cars will be given star ratings by factoring in their performance in crash tests. Gadkari confirmed the development in a series of tweets.
