Krishnagiri Collector holds meeting with private hospital doctors The district administration has urged the private hospitals to use oxygen only in cases warranted medically and to audit the use of oxygen.
In a consultative meeting with the doctors of private hospitals, District Collector V. Jayachandra Bhanu Reddy asked them to share the burden and responsibility in treating the public during the pandemic. The hospitals were urged to contact the district control room in the event of oxygen shortage.
Addressing complaints of hospitals turning away patients citing shortage of beds, Dr. Reddy urged the private hospitals to ensure the status of beds and possibility of creating beds before turning away patients to other hospitals. AAA In view of fresh the fresh restrictions, Collector V.Jayachandra Bhanu Reddy convened a review meeting with the line departments to take stock of the arrangements.
Addressing the line departments, The Collector said that government offices will function with 50% strength and on rotation basis.
For the public, the district administration has once again underlined the key guidelines on weddings and funerals.
With the district sharing borders with Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, the administration has stated that there is surge in cases in North of the district, with the strain similar to the one in Bengaluru. In its wake, the nine flying squads earlier constituted by the administration will increase monitoring of the inter-State borders.

Security beefed up at the Government Polytechnic College, the counting centre for the six Assembly constituencies in Krishnagiri.
Collector V. Jayachandra Bhanu Reddy along with the general observers for the six Assembly constituencies inspected the counting centre and the halls at the Government Polytechnic College.
Accompanied by general observers P.D. Palsan (Uthangarai, Bargur); G.Anuradha (Krishnagiri and Vepanapalli) and Hans Raj Chauhan (Thally and Hosur), the Collector inspected the counting centre.
The counting halls have been allocated on different floors for each of the six Assembly constituencies of Uthangarai, Krishnagiri, Vepanapalli, Bargur, Thally and Hosur.

With Karnataka announcing a 14-day lockdown starting Tuesday night, the border districts of Krishnagiri and neighbouring Dharmapuri are expected to see a large number of migrants from Karnataka returning to their villages.
A large number of youth from Dharmapuri are employed in Karnataka.
With the lockdown announced on Monday in the neighbouring State, the Health Department is anticipating a spike in COVID-19 cases because of the return of a large number of migrant workers.
Soon after the nationwide lockdown was announced last year, there was a flurry of migrant workers crossing the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border on foot.

RT-PCR testing would be mandatory for all polling staff, candidates and their agents, said Collector V. Jayachandra Bhanu Reddy at the Collectorate here on Saturday.
On the preparedness for the counting on May 2, the Collector told mediapersons the counting centre at the Government Polytechnic College, Kattiganapalli, was being prepared for the counting of votes polled for the six Assembly constituencies. Six halls were being arranged for the counting of postal ballots. Each hall would not have more than four tables.
Each candidate would allocate an agent per table. In view of COVID-19 protocols, two halls were being set up for counting of EVMs for each of the three constituencies; and three halls for three Assembly constituencies.
