Author: Buttered Tin The Buttered Tin, which has become one of St. Paul s favorite breakfast spots since opening in Lowertown in 2013, is planning to open a new location in Minneapolis. The food truck of the day, Oasis del Norte, was on hand and the sun was shining as Kyle Ollah started the evening off with his rootsy folk trio, featuring Clancy Ward on fiddle and Jen Krussow on upright bass. Meanwhile, inside the Cedar Lounge, Ingeborg van Aggasiz was performing for her regular Friday residency, sharing a mix of originals and covers of tunes including Bob Dylan’s “Abandoned Love” and The Replacements’ “Swingin’ Party.”

But it was unusual in the 1980s when Dolly Fiterman, the late philanthropist, art dealer/collector and gallery owner, put a very contemporary-style addition onto the back of her stately vintage home overlooking Lake Harriet. Fiterman and her late husband had raised their daughter in the original house, a Mediterranean Colonial designed by architect Albert Van Dyke, a former associate of Harry Wild Jones (designer of the chapel at Lakewood Cemetery).
