NATIONALISM VERSUS REGIONALISM

GUWAHATI: Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) president Lurinjyoti Gogoi has underlined that the forthcoming Assembly election in the State will be a straight fight between regionalism and nationalism.
Alleging that the State government is trying to create confusion among the people of the State, Gogoi on Wednesday elaborated, The Government is giving land pattas to people occupying lands. This is an age-old practice that needs no publicity by holding programmes for the distribution of land pattas. Still there are around 4,75,000 landless people in the State. The residents of Laika and Dodhia are protesting for more than 25 days demanding land rights. Scores of people are living on the streets in various areas across the State.
