18U AAA 57âs lose close games to host Broncos

The Swift Current 18U AAA 57âs dropped a pair of close road games against the host White Butte Broncos on Wednesday in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League.
The 57âs were edged 3-2 in the opener despite a strong pitching performance from Wyatt Harkes, who allowed only five hits, one walk, and three earned runs while striking out three over six innings.
Dawson Schultz and Connor Choo-Foo both singled and scored. Rydell Adair also singled twice as the 57âs were held to four hits and one walk. Ben Patenaude had the only run batted in, while Cash Arntsen stole a base.

The Swift Current 18U AAA 57âs dropped both games to the host East Central Red Sox in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League on Canada Day.
The 57âs allowed 10 unanswered runs over the final three innings in an 11-2 loss to open the day. They were leading 2-1 in the fourth inning before the Red Sox scored five runs, followed by two in the fifth and three more in the sixth inning.
The 57âs were held to three hits, including two singles that came off the bat of leadoff man Cash Arntsen, who had one run batted in. Rydell Adair doubled, walked, scored, and had the other RBI. Ben Patenaude and Riley Bowers both were on base with a pair of walks each. Dawson Schultz scored the other run after reaching base twice on errors.

The Swift Current 18U AAA 57âs saved the best for last during a four-game home stand over the weekend. The 57âs lost the first three games of the weekend, but picked up a shutout win in the finale to move to 5-7 in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League this season.
Saturday, the 57âs dropped both games to the visiting Sask 5 Giants. They lost the opener 7-3 when the Giants scored four runs on the top of the seventh inning.
