From June 29 to July 5, the global K-pop fandom platform Whosfan held a poll, titled Who is the best female/male idol that shined in the first half of 2021?
Numerous artists who were active in the first half of 2021 were nominated for the poll, and each nominee was selected by fans from the official social media accounts of Whosfan.
Over 700,000 global votes were recorded.

On Saturday, Jan. 30, the Lovesick Girls track of BLACKPINK reached another milestone after it was able to garner more than 30 million streams on the popular music site Genie. It is the second song of Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé from The Album to make it to the 30 million streams mark.

BTS and BLACKPINK have reigned supreme again after they were announced, on Tuesday, Dec. 22, as two of the winners of the 2021 Korea First Brand Awards.
Jin, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, V, RM and Jungkook, collectively known as BTS, received the Best Male Idol award while Jennie, Rose, Lisa and Jisoo, collectively known as BLACKPINK, were named as the Best Female Idol. Kang Daniel and MAMAMOO member Hwasa were, also, awarded as Best Male Solo Artist and Best Female Solo Artist, respectively.

Stray Kids, which is composed of Hyunjin, Bang Chan, Felix, I.N., Lee Know, Han, Changbin and Seugmin, received that Hot Male Trend award. On the other hand, (G)I-DLE, which is composed of Minnie, Jeon So Yeon, Yeh Shu Hua, Song Yuqi, Choi Mi Yeon and Seo Soo Jin, won the Hot Female Trend award.
