Muskegon poet shaped by grief becomes a ‘voice of the community’

Steeped in loss, Davis found relief in writing poetry.
“Poetry has been my therapy,” she said.
Davis has two identities: a 39-year-old woman born and raised in Muskegon and Gemini DaPoet, a force in the community who drives change through art. These alter egos coalesce through her work as an activist, a business owner, a writer, and a candidate for Muskegon Heights City Council.
