The jobs of Orthodox female nonprofit executives and lay leaders got a supercharged boost of inspiration last week, as 150 women, including more than 20 from New Jersey’s Jewish communities, joined to invest in time together learning, sharing and growing.
This was the 13th year that the Rohr Chabad Center for Jewish Student Life at Binghamton University has coordinated the college-led effort for sick children, dubbed “light up a life.”
Teaneck Weight Loss Challenge Spurs Charity By Jewish Link Staff | December 31, 2020
Elie Y. Katz celebrated his Teaneck Weight Loss Challenge win at the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps (TVAC). Deputy Mayor Mark J Schwartz lost the challenge (Helpteaneck.com) to Katz, and paid $1,000 to split between two charities: TVAC and Helping Hands Food Pantries.
Thanks were extended to Don and Joe Butta from Different Breed Gym on Cedar Lane/Water Street for working with the participants.
Teaneck attorney John Shahdanian also donated to the Helping Hands Food Pantries and TVAC. TVAC is having their annual drive, 24/7/365, and the all volunteer organizations rely on generous donations.
