The jobs of Orthodox female nonprofit executives and lay leaders got a supercharged boost of inspiration last week, as 150 women, including more than 20 from New Jersey’s Jewish communities, joined to invest in time together learning, sharing and growing.
Since March of 2020, Shearit HaPlate of Bergen County, Inc. (SHPBC) has been temporarily closed due both to the pandemic and because of the sale of the home that included the garage where they conducted operations.
The Bergen County Kosher Pantry (formerly Shearit Haplate) opened right after Pesach 2020. A local Facebook group began sharing leftover, unopened Pesach food at the peak of the coronavirus pandemic.
